Water is essential to everything Auckland does. It supports our homes, communities, businesses and environment. But Auckland is growing, our infrastructure is ageing, and the decisions we make today about our water services will shape our city for generations to come.
Together, Auckland Council and Watercare are inviting Aucklanders to be part of an important conversation about our region's water future.
So, what should Auckland's water future look like?
Watercare, in partnership with Auckland Council, is developing a 30-year plan for Auckland's water and wastewater services. With a proposed $15.2 billion investment programme over the next decade alone, there are significant decisions ahead about how we support Auckland's growth, renew ageing infrastructure, maintain reliable services and balance investment with affordability.
These are choices that will affect all Aucklanders.
Join us at Auckland Conversations to hear about the challenges and opportunities ahead, the choices Auckland will need to make, and how Auckland Council, Watercare and our communities can help shape a reliable, resilient and sustainable water future.
You'll have the opportunity to hear different perspectives, ask questions and better understand what these decisions could mean for Auckland, now and for future generations.
More details, including our speakers and event programme, will be available soon.
