Benefit transfer is a widely utilised technique to estimate the economic value of environmental benefits when an original valuation study is not viable, usually due to budgetary or time constraints. This report analyses the main advantages, disadvantages ad remedies of the benefit transfer technique in the Auckland context and its usefulness as a policy tool for Auckland Council.
