An examination of the aspirations and experiences of first home buyers living in Auckland. This report provides a profile of the characteristics and expectations of a sample of first-home buyers. It discusses the barriers and constraints they face, as well as the types of assistance they need to call upon to help them buy a home. It also examines how the policies and priorities of key institutions such as banks, mortgage brokers, and real estate agents influence the types of expectations and choices that first home buyers have.
