This paper reviews current and future trends in regional business and employment location. It discusses the impact that workforce trends, market requirements, and supply and demand of land and infrastructure have on location patterns. It also reviews the policy implications of recent location trends - particularly in relation to the aims of the Regional Growth Strategy.
