General: Sometimes the back-data is recalculated to match latest quarterly real price indices (notably house prices and building consent values), and sometimes it is revised by the data supplier (notably GDP and house sales and prices). So resulting dollar values may differ from previous updates.
Building consents: For September 2018 update onwards, they are now so high that I have had to expand the graph axes
GDP: For May 2018 update onwards, the model for estimating quarterly changes was revised, which affected back-data for 2016 and 2017. Also, in late 2017 Statistics NZ revised recent years' GDP backdata for NZ; this has now (March 2018 update onwards) flowed through to regional estimates.
Retail sales: In November 2017 Stats NZ changed the methodology for the Retail Trade Survey for September 2017 quarter onwards; they also revised all back-data from June 2011 onwards. The old basis omitted approximately 1% of sales.
House sales: Each month, REINZ make revisions/corrections to some of the backdata, for Auckland and also for total New Zealand.
