Business After 5 - Brexit, voice and loyalty: European social dialogue in turbulent times! - event - Massey University For three decades social dialogue has been a key element in the European social market economy and contributed to its competitiveness, but it is now challenged by industrial and social change. Collective bargaining de-centralisation has polarised EU Member States and the subsequent crisis has resulted in an increased trend towards unilateral decision making by governments at the expense of social partners’ autonomy. Massey University Distinguished Visitor Professor Dr Christian Welz will look at the current state of play of social dialogue in Europe, focusing on his organisation’s extensive research findings and attempting to anticipate, in as far as possible, the impacts BREXIT may have.
